Getting Started

Navigate the mobile interface and understand how it relates to the web app.

The five main tabs

Matters

Your full matter list. Search, filter by status or attorney, open any matter to see details, activities, documents, and billing.

Contacts

Clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, and other contacts. Tap any contact to see their matters, communication history, and notes.

Calendar

Upcoming hearings, deadlines, tasks, and meetings in a day/week/month view. Synced with the web app and your connected external calendar.

Time

Active timers and recent time entries. Start a new timer, log manual time, or review and edit entries before they are billed.

More

Access all other modules: Tasks, Activities, Analytics, Communications, Settings, and more. The full breadth of FRITH is available here.

Key navigation patterns

  • Create anything

Tap the + button (top-right on most screens) to create a new matter, contact, time entry, task, or activity.

  • Pull-to-refresh

Drag down on any list to force an immediate sync with the server. Useful after making changes on the web app.

  • Long-press

Long-press any card (matter, contact, time entry) to reveal a quick-action menu: edit, archive, duplicate, delete.

  • Swipe left

On most list items, swipe left to reveal action buttons (edit, delete, mark complete) without opening the full detail view.

  • Search

Tap the search icon at the top of Matters or Contacts to search across name, reference number, client, and status.

  • Back navigation

Tap the back arrow (top-left) or swipe right from the left edge (iOS). Android back button also works.

Key differences from the web app

  • Complex features (Report Builder, Form Builder, AI Templates) are view-only on mobile — editing requires the web app.
  • The mobile app prioritises the most-used workflows: viewing matters, logging time, accessing documents, and messaging.
  • All data is the same — changes made on mobile appear instantly on the web app when connected, and vice versa.
  • The More tab gives access to every module in FRITH, even those without dedicated bottom-nav tabs.
  • The AI Terminal and Cowork modules are available on mobile with a simplified chat-style interface.

First things to configure

  1. 1Go to Settings (More tab → Settings) and set your default billing code — used pre-filled on new time entries.
  2. 2Enable all push notification types and then disable the ones that aren't relevant. It's easier to turn off than discover you missed something important.
  3. 3Add a matter to Favourites (tap the star on any matter) so it appears at the top of your Matters list.
  4. 4If your firm uses trust accounting, review the Banking tab in the Settings for trust account notifications.
