Push Notifications
Configure which events trigger alerts and manage per-type notification settings.
Notification types
7 days before, 1 day before, and 1 hour before any deadline or hearing date.
A client sends a message via the FRITH Clients app or client portal.
A client pays an invoice via the client portal.
Another team member assigns a task to you.
You are @mentioned in a team message on any matter.
A trust transaction is recorded on a matter you are assigned to.
A lead in the pipeline is converted to a client or matter.
A client completes an eSignature request you sent.
Managing notification settings
Each notification type can be enabled or disabled independently. Go to More tab → Settings → Notifications. Toggle each notification type on or off. Changes take effect immediately — you do not need to restart the app.
Deadline reminder lead times (7d / 1d / 1h) are configured per matter stage in the web app under Settings → Firm Settings → Deadline Reminders. The mobile app respects the firm-wide setting.
Notification actions
- Tap any notification to open FRITH directly to the relevant matter, message, or invoice.
- iOS: Long-press a client message notification to reveal a Reply action — reply without opening the app.
- Android: Expand a notification by swiping down on it to see action buttons (View, Reply, Dismiss).
- Notification badges on the app icon show the count of unread items — cleared when you open the app.
Troubleshooting missing notifications
iOS
- • iOS Settings → FRITH → Notifications → verify Allow Notifications is on
- • Check Notification style is set to Banners or Alerts (not None)
- • Focus / Do Not Disturb mode silences notifications from all apps — add FRITH to the Focus exceptions list
Android
- • Settings → Apps → FRITH → Notifications → ensure all notification categories are enabled
- • Battery optimisation: Settings → Battery → Battery Optimisation → FRITH → Don't optimise. Android may kill background services when battery saver is active.
- • Some Android OEMs (Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus) restrict background app activity aggressively. Check manufacturer-specific settings under App Management or Auto-start.
Start with all notifications enabled. Spend a week in normal use, then turn off the types that interrupt you most. It's faster than trying to guess which notifications you'll want before you've used the app.
