Registered Agent
Licensed registered agent service in all 50 states — $99/year per entity.
What is a registered agent?
Most US states require every LLC, corporation, and formal business entity to designate a registered agent — a person or company with a physical address in the state who can officially receive legal documents (service of process), government notices, and compliance correspondence on behalf of the business.
If you run your business from home, use a PO box, or frequently travel, using a professional registered agent protects your privacy, ensures you never miss a legal notice, and keeps your business in good standing with the state.
Why it matters: Failing to receive service of process can result in a default judgment being entered against your business. A professional registered agent ensures you are always reachable by law.

State coverage
FRITH provides registered agent coverage in all 50 US states. The most commonly used states for business formation include:
Receiving legal notices
When FRITH receives a legal notice or service of process for your entity:
- 1The document is date-stamped upon receipt.
- 2It is scanned and uploaded to your portal document inbox within hours.
- 3You receive an email notification with the document type and urgency level.
- 4You can download the document from your portal at any time.
- 5For urgent legal notices (e.g. lawsuit served), you are also notified by SMS if you have a phone number on file.
Renewals and cancellations
Registered agent subscriptions renew annually. You will receive an email reminder 30 days before renewal. If you cancel:
- Your service continues until the end of the paid annual period.
- Before your service ends, you must designate a new registered agent with your state to avoid compliance issues.
- FRITH will send a notice 14 days before service termination reminding you to complete the change of agent filing.
To cancel, go to Billing in the left sidebar and click Cancel on the relevant registered agent subscription.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a registered agent in every state my business operates in?
You need a registered agent in every state where your business is formally registered (i.e. has filed Articles of Organisation or Incorporation). You do not need one for states where you simply have customers or employees without formal registration.
Can I use my home address instead of a registered agent?
Many states allow this, but it means your home address appears on the public record and legal papers can be served at your home. A professional registered agent keeps your address private and ensures documents are handled reliably.
What happens if my business is sued and I miss the notice?
FRITH notifies you via email and SMS immediately upon receiving service of process. You have a short window (often 20–30 days) to respond to a lawsuit, so we treat these notices as urgent and deliver them the same day.
Does the registered agent address appear on public filings?
Yes. The FRITH registered agent address for your state is listed on your public state registration record. Your personal or business address is not required to be public when you use a registered agent service.
