Troubleshooting

Common issues and step-by-step fixes for the FRITH mobile app.

App won't launch or crashes on startup

  1. 1Force-quit the app (swipe up from app switcher) and relaunch.
  2. 2If it still crashes, restart your device.
  3. 3Check the App Store / Google Play for a pending FRITH update — install it.
  4. 4If the problem persists after updating, uninstall and reinstall the app. Your data is stored server-side and will resync after sign-in.

Can't sign in

  1. 1Confirm you are using the correct sign-in method (email/password, Google, or Microsoft). Mixing methods creates separate accounts.
  2. 2For email/password: try resetting your password via the Forgot Password link on the sign-in screen.
  3. 3For Google/Microsoft: ensure you are signed in to the correct Google/Microsoft account on your device.
  4. 4Check your internet connection — sign-in requires a live connection.
  5. 5If you see "Account not found": your FRITH account may be under a different email address. Contact your firm's admin.

Sync appears stuck or data is out of date

  1. 1Pull-to-refresh on the affected screen to trigger an immediate sync.
  2. 2Check your internet connection (airplane mode on/off can reset a stuck connection).
  3. 3More tab → Settings → Sync → Force Sync All to clear the cache and re-download all data.
  4. 4Sign out (Settings → Account → Sign Out) and sign back in as a last resort.

Push notifications not arriving

  1. 1iOS: iOS Settings → FRITH → Notifications → Allow Notifications must be On.
  2. 2Android: Settings → Apps → FRITH → Notifications → ensure the relevant categories are enabled.
  3. 3Android only: Settings → Battery → Battery Optimisation → FRITH → Don't Optimise.
  4. 4In the FRITH app: More tab → Settings → Notifications — verify all desired types are toggled on.
  5. 5Try re-enabling notifications: More tab → Settings → Notifications → tap Re-subscribe to Push.

Documents won't open

  1. 1Check your internet connection — documents larger than 5 MB require a connection to stream.
  2. 2Try tapping the document again after pulling-to-refresh the Documents list.
  3. 3If a specific PDF fails to open, try downloading it to your device first (tap the download icon).
  4. 4If all documents fail, force-quit and relaunch the app.

Timer stopped unexpectedly

  1. 1Check the Time tab — the timer may still be running. The display resets on device restart but the server-side timer is still active.
  2. 2Low battery / aggressive battery saver modes on Android can kill background processes including the timer service. Check Settings → Battery → FRITH.
  3. 3After a crash: open the Time tab — a draft time entry is usually saved with the elapsed time up to the crash.

Report a bug

To report a crash or unexpected behaviour: shake your device while the app is open. A feedback form appears with an automatic screenshot and diagnostic information. Describe what you were doing when the issue occurred and tap Submit.

Alternatively, submit a support ticket below with your device model, OS version, and FRITH app version (More tab → Settings → About → App version).
