Cowork

A unified action feed that surfaces what needs doing across every tool your firm uses.

Overview

Law firms use many tools simultaneously — accounting software, email, calendars, document signing, CRM, team messaging, and payment processors. Each of these operates in its own interface, with its own notifications, and its own sense of what needs attention. The result is context-switching: attorneys and staff constantly moving between applications to find out what to do next.

Cowork solves this by aggregating activity from all connected tools into a single intelligent feed. Instead of checking QuickBooks for overdue invoices, Gmail for unread client messages, DocuSign for pending signatures, and Slack for team messages separately, everything that requires action appears in one place — ranked by urgency — with one-click actions to respond without leaving FRITH.

Connected Tools

Cowork aggregates activity from any tool you connect under Settings → Integrations. Supported connectors include:

Accounting

QuickBooks Online · Xero

Email

Gmail · Outlook / Microsoft 365

Calendar

Google Calendar · Outlook Calendar

Document Signing

DocuSign

CRM

HubSpot

Team Messaging

Slack · Microsoft Teams

Payments

PayPal

File Storage & Design

Google Drive · SharePoint · Canva

Only connected tools appear in the feed. Tools that have not been connected show a Connect prompt in the Connectors panel on the right side of the Cowork screen.

The Action Feed

The main panel in Cowork is the action feed — a chronological, priority-ranked list of items that need your attention. Each feed item shows the source tool, the item type, a summary, and available quick actions. Feed items are grouped into four priority tiers:

UrgentItems requiring immediate action: an overdue invoice past its payment deadline, a signature request that has expired, a payment that has failed, or a contract awaiting your countersignature before a stated expiry.
HighItems requiring action today: a new client email that needs a response, a pending signature request you have not yet sent, an invoice that falls due within 48 hours.
MediumItems to address this week: a new lead added to HubSpot, a document shared with you in Google Drive, a task assigned to you in a connected tool.
LowInformational items: a successfully processed payment, a completed document upload, a calendar reminder more than a week away.

Feed Item Types

Invoice

An invoice created, paid, overdue, or requiring follow-up from QuickBooks or Xero.

Email

A client email or message in Gmail or Outlook requiring a response or follow-up.

Signature Request

A DocuSign document awaiting your signature or a countersignature from a recipient.

Calendar Event

An upcoming meeting, court date, or deadline surfaced from your connected calendar.

Task

A task assigned in a connected tool (Slack, Teams, HubSpot) that has not been completed.

Payment

A payment received, failed, or pending in a connected payment processor.

Lead

A new lead or contact added to your HubSpot CRM requiring an initial response.

Document

A document shared with you in Google Drive, SharePoint, or Canva awaiting review.

Quick Actions

Each feed item offers one or more quick actions that execute across the connected tool without leaving FRITH. Actions available depend on the item type:

Send ReminderSend a payment or signature follow-up email to the relevant party directly from the feed item.
Draft EmailOpen an AI-assisted email draft pre-populated with context from the feed item. Edit and send without switching to Gmail or Outlook.
Create TaskConvert a feed item into a FRITH task so it appears in your task list with a due date and assignee.
Send for SignatureSend a pending document for signature via DocuSign from within the feed.
Schedule Follow-upAdd a follow-up event to your connected calendar from the feed item.
Update CRMLog a note or update a contact record in HubSpot from the feed item without switching tools.
Approve / RejectApprove or reject a pending action (a payment, a document approval request) directly in the feed.
Generate SummaryUse AI to summarise a long email thread, a document, or a set of feed items into a brief.

Using Cowork Day-to-Day

1

Open Cowork from the sidebar

Click Cowork under AI Tools in the left navigation. The feed loads the latest items from all connected tools, refreshed in real time.

2

Work the Urgent and High items first

The feed defaults to showing Urgent items at the top. Address these before moving to High and Medium. Use the priority filter to focus on a specific tier if preferred.

3

Use quick actions to respond in place

For most items, you do not need to leave FRITH. Click the action button on the feed item — draft a reply, send a reminder, create a task — and the action is executed across the connected tool immediately.

4

Dismiss items that require no action

Mark informational items as read once you have reviewed them. They move to the Reviewed section and no longer appear in the active feed. The feed stays clean and actionable.

5

Check the Connectors panel

The Connectors panel on the right shows the status of each connected tool (active, syncing, error). If a connector shows an error, it means new items from that tool are not being fetched. Click to re-authenticate or check the connection.

Getting the most out of Cowork

  • • Connect all tools you actively use — a tool that is not connected does not appear in the feed, so its items are invisible until you check it separately.
  • • Use Cowork as your morning triage: open it before email and address every Urgent item before moving to other work.
  • • Convert recurring feed items into FRITH tasks so they appear in your task queue with a due date and owner, rather than just disappearing from the feed once read.
  • • The AI summary action is particularly valuable for long email threads — use it before replying to a thread you have not read in a few days to get back up to speed instantly.
  • • Re-authenticate connectors the moment you see an error badge. A disconnected tool means missed items accumulating silently in the source tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

How frequently does the feed refresh?

The Cowork feed syncs with connected tools approximately every 5 minutes for most connectors. Some integrations (like Gmail via push notifications) can deliver items in near real time. The last sync time for each connector is displayed in the Connectors panel.

Can I filter the feed to show only items from one tool?

Yes. Use the connector filter at the top of the feed to show items from a single source (e.g., only Gmail items, or only DocuSign items). You can also filter by item type (invoices only, signatures only, etc.) and by priority tier.

Will items I action in Cowork update in the source tool?

Yes. Quick actions execute via the connected tool's API. If you send a reminder from a QuickBooks invoice item, a payment reminder is sent via QuickBooks. If you create a task from a HubSpot lead item, the task is created in HubSpot. FRITH is the interface; the source tool holds the record.

I dismissed an item by mistake. Can I get it back?

Yes. Click Reviewed at the top of the feed to see all reviewed items. Find the item and click Restore to Active to move it back to the main feed.

Do all team members see the same feed?

No. The Cowork feed is personalised to each user based on their connected accounts and the items assigned or addressed to them. A firm administrator can view a consolidated firm-level feed under Organisation → Cowork Overview.
