Accounting integrations are firm-level and require Admin role to connect. Only one accounting system can be actively connected at a time.

Connecting your accounting system

  1. 1Open the App Integration module → Accounting category.
  2. 2Select your provider and click Install. Admin role required.
  3. 3Authenticate via OAuth.
  4. 4Map FRITH billing categories to your chart of accounts (e.g. "Legal Fees" → "4000 Legal Income").
  5. 5Map FRITH tax codes to your accounting system's GST/VAT codes.
  6. 6Run an initial sync: App Integration → Accounting → Sync Now. Existing FRITH invoices from the past 90 days are pushed to your accounting system.

What syncs automatically

  • Invoices: every invoice created in FRITH Billing appears in Xero/MYOB/QB within 60 seconds.
  • Payments: when a payment is recorded in FRITH (via client portal or manually), the invoice is marked paid in the accounting system.
  • Contacts: FRITH clients sync as contacts/customers. Updates to client details in FRITH update the accounting contact.
  • Trust accounting: trust deposits and withdrawals are recorded as separate ledger entries in your accounting system's trust liability account.
  • Credit notes: invoices voided or credited in FRITH create matching credit notes in the accounting system.

GST / VAT handling

FRITH auto-applies the correct tax code based on: (1) the jurisdiction set on the matter, (2) the client's registered country, and (3) the tax mapping you configured during setup. Review the tax mapping under App Integration → Accounting → Tax Codes before running your first end-of-period report.

Do not manually create invoices in Xero/MYOB for matters managed in FRITH — duplicates will result. All billing for FRITH matters should flow from FRITH → accounting system via the integration.
